I went to KP Tyres, as had enough of constanly replacing tyres at Ford Epsom. Every year, tyre after tyre replacement.
Had numerous tyre warnings after replacement new tyre fitted by Ford.
Enough was enough. We decided to try a local tyre fitter, on recommendations from friends.
I explained to the tyre fitter at KP Tyres that we are constantly changing tyres and it was becoming rediculous. The offside front tyre had been replaced by Ford last July, as we were due to do a 800 mile drive to southern France, but then quaranteen from France kicked in, so we didnt go. The KP Tyre rep had a walk around our car and to my amazement, 1 of the tyres was the wrong size. All our tyres on the Ford Kuga, should have been 235/55/R17.
3 of them were, but the one changed by Ford was 225/55/R17., a huge difference in size, especially when he took Fords 225 off a'd held it next to a 235.
No wonder we were getting warning lights. This was going on for months.
Then I found out that the M. O. T, as well as insurance etc would have been void because of the wrong tyre being fitted.
Totally illegal. I know mistakes are made but not from a reputable dealer for whom we do all out servicing and MOTS and repairs through. This tyre could have been repaired for £20 but because of Fords mistake has now cost another £87. Lets not forget putting my families life at risk.
I thanked the KP Tyre rep and was given the tyre back to show Ford.
I have been to see Ford today. No one available. Phone number left. I am so angry. I will await explanation. If I hadnt have taken this in to KP Tyres I would be none the wiser as I believe Ford may not have told me about their mistake they had made months earlier.
Can I just say a big Thankyou to the gentleman at KP who noticed the difference in sizes, a credit to the local companies.
I know were I will probably be going in the future for reliability and honesty.
Thankyou KP Tyres.
